I am driving up 85 in the

Kind of morning that lasts all afternoon

--John Mayer (Why Georgia)

You know, the other day as I was riding around with the family in the rental car I came upon a revelation. I think the reason that driving is so soothing to me is because it's like adding a soundtrack to my life.

Yes, I know this sounds silly but when I'm riding around shotgun there is always good music (as long as I'm in control) softly wafting through the background and I'm taking in all the trees, and people, and buildings that pass by my window. The moving sights are placed to music and my world is complete.

It's the same type of high that I get while walking to class or on other various excursions around the city with my headphones on. All my actions and travels are conducted by a favorite CD or playlist. Everything is somehow synchronized and each step that I take has a beat behind it, each breath a note developed.

That's why I like movies so much I think. I am so captured by them and moved by the music and dialogue and scenes that are being displayed but they would never be the same without the soundtrack behind all that dialogue and acting.

Hmm...just a late night musing for you all...ENJOY!
