Is that really true, that fate rules over everything. Is everyone actually destined to meet certain people and no matter in what sequence or order it may occur, their paths will somehow intersect and follow according to the path of the universe.

I don't know what I think about that. I mean sure, the theory seems all nice and dandy for the romantic aspects, as in you are destined to meet some dashing partner and all things will work out in the end when you are least expecting it...or some other scenario. But fate must not just control all the good things in our life then.

Like when people come in and out of your life, does fate control that? Am I destined to meet my husband one day in a bar only to find out later that he's a)going to cheat on me, b)going to die of some strange disease that he's contracted in the years before he met me that he's spent in Africa, c)have a rare, mid-life psychotic break and make my life a living hell, or d)we'll have the happiest life possible.

Who knows - all I can say is that I'm a bit leary of this whole business of fate. It will take a bit more weighing out and life experience to determine what stance I'll develop. But for right now I think it's all about chances and situations and how you decided to approach life and that will make the interactions occur or not. It can't all be about missing trains at the metro or dropping earings in a "lift" (as was said in Sliding Doors) can it?

Wow...this is a rare completive mood for me to be in...probably because I'm procrastinating the completion of this clinical paper. Blarg! At least there's only one more day till the big 2-1!!!
